DESCRIPTION:When people think of fan fiction the expectation tends to be that the quality of fan fiction is lower than that of stories that get published traditionally. But is that true? How does traditional publishing differ from fan fiction publishing? Is one better than other? What aspects actually affect the quality of published works? What are the pros and cons of traditional publishing and fan fiction publishing?\n\nWhen and how and why can fan fiction be better in quality than works published traditionally?\n\nThis lecture is hosted by an avid fan fic writer with over 130 published works on Ao3. She has also worked with different publishing houses in Estonia as an editor\, translator and a short story author.
