DESCRIPTION:Our mortality is an integral\, unifying experience that binds us together\, regardless of our cultural or religious backgrounds. But what does dying look like\, and is it possible to roleplay it? What are the things that modern media often gets wrong about death and why? Medical doctor\, specialist in cancer with subspecialty in palliative care\, Pekka Haapaniemi\, works in providing end-of-life care and has seen death in various different forms. They will discuss the topic of dying and what the approaching death looks like in real life. The lecture will be in English and will discuss trauma\, loss\, grief and the moment of death. It'll feature no shocking imagery\, but may contain graphic descriptions of illness\, bodily functions and consequences of violence. It's aimed towards a mature audience\, but is open for all.
